We’ve heard stories from our fathers about our rich heritage. We will continue to tell our children and not hide from the rising generation the great marvels of our God— His miracles and power that have brought us all this far. - Psalm 78:4-7 tpt
There is a spiritual purpose to the expansion of family. Wisdom seeks to “gather a harvest of sons who are blameless and obedient.” Without a strong foundation of family, the Kingdom will not expand in proper expression. Each household set is established with a covenant relationship of man and woman becoming one flesh. This union is to be fruitful, and multiply seed to the increase of a legacy government–a building; a house of sons and daughters.
Children are a gift of the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; they will not be ashamed when they speak with their enemies in the gate. - Psalm 127:5 nasb
Family is the training environment that develops sons capable of leadership. Sons who are blameless and obedient and trained in upright leadership establish, maintain and expand the authority of the abba of the oikos, and ultimately the Kingdom. Additionally, expansion of the Kingdom requires leaders capable in service of enterprise function, and the art of war. Therefore, children are vital to the expansion of the household set and the oikos of the invisible Kingdom.
